8 Vintage Dorothy Thorpe Silver Band Crystal Glass Square Snack Plate & Cup Sets. The price is for eight vintage silver banded snack plate and cup sets made by Dorothy Thorpe Crystal in the Silver Band pattern. The Silver Band pattern, long ago discontinued, features a wide silver band around the rim on clear crystal glass. The plate is squarish looking, with a cup ring/ holder in one corner. The price includes eight snack plates and eight snack cups. I took photographs with and without the flash trying to capture the beautiful pattern and condition of these snack plate & cup sets for your careful consideration. Please refer to the photographs. The measurements of these Dorothy Thorpe Silver Band snack cups are: 6 ounce capacity: 2 1/8 inch rim height: 3 1/2 inch rim diameter: 1 7/8 inch base diameter. Although the snack plates are not exactly square, slightly bowing outward between corners, the plates measure 8 inches across, both directions, at the widest center point between corners. Each snack plate and cup set weighs well over 1 1/2 pounds. These beautiful vintage Dorothy Thorpe Silver Band snack plate and cup sets are in good used condition: no chips: no cracks: no discoloration: very little if any, loss of silver: silver needs properly shined up. I don’t clean silver or silver plate knowing collectors prefer to do so themselves, but I did wipe off one set to show the brilliant silver color hiding beneath the aged patina.
