Rare Signed HAWKES Art Deco Three-Piece Intaglio Cut Glass Crystal Box Desk Set

In advance of our. Sunday, February 17th. This listing is for a rare intaglio cut Hawkes crystal Art Deco set being offered is part of a three-piece desk set that is on display at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. This three piece set dates from the 1920’s and consists of the pen tray 8 inches long x 2 1/4 inches wide x 7/ 8 inch tall, stamp box 1-inch tall x 3 inches long x 1 3/4 inches deep, letter holder is 3 1/2 inches tall x 6 3/4 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches deep. Intricate Hawkes intaglio cut pattern features vertical line panels with center oval and intaglio cut bird and leaves. Very good to excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Minor light scratches on the underside from use and display. Signed Hawkes on bottom corner on stamp box, and on the bottom edge on letter holder. Rare Art Deco Etched Crystal Cocktail Shaker Set By Duncan Miller Ca 1936

I bought this unique cocktail shaker “set” some 35 years ago. It has been in my possession ever since and has been very well cared for. I have only seen this shaker twice in all my years of collecting. Collectors may remember that Duncan Miller produced the iconic “Chanticleer” cocktail shaker set earlier in the decade. This “Fish” pattern and the “Seahorse” pattern by Duncan Miller has often been attributed to William Reese who designed for Duncan Miller during this period. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any additional information on William Reese. Then there’s this mysterious cocktail shaker also in an etched fish design with obvious similarities but not an exact match to the cocktail cups. Here Modernist-styled fish spurting bubbles and flowing seaweed are etched around this large, 12.5″ / 4.5″ diameter crystal shaker. Also by Duncan Miller? Since Duncan Miller rarely marked their products in this time period (opting for stickers instead), it would be difficult to determine. The untraceable “PATENT PENDING” stamped on the inside of the chromium top offers no answers either. The unusual chromium-plated top and cap with self-strainer, features a turning dial of 10 cocktail recipes: Alexander, Bacardi, Bronx, Clover Club, Jack Rose, Manhattan, Martini, Palm Beach, Pink Lady, and Side Car. The shaker has 3 pieces as shown. The cocktail cups are 3.75″ tall, 2″ diameter and sit on a rich ruby red bottom foot. This high-quality “set” is in excellent condition and shows light wear consistent with age and use. Rare WATERFORD Crystal Oak and Brass Tantalus Liqour Decanter Set. This is an elegant and rare tantalus liquor decanter set comprising two Waterford crystal decanters in a fitted oak and brass frame. An attention getting set for your bar or sideboard. When the hanlde is lifted it locks to protect the contents. The overall height to top of handle is 12 1/4″ by 11 3/4″ wide and the decanters meaure approximately 9 1/2 tall. The decanters are marked with the gothic Waterford logo, there are no markings on the frame. The decanters are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. One decanter is slightly taller than the other and is a tight fit when closed, it needs to be tilted out slightly when raising the locking top. One side of the frame has a darker spot where i assume there was a name plaque at one time, se pictures. If you have any concerns or questions please feel free to send me a message.
