Lift the lid to find 6 pieces of 24% full lead crystal snifters and a long necked ovoid bottle. This President’s Award was made in 1986 just at the time when RJ REYNOLDS TOBACCO CO. This is when KFC had 6,500 outlets around the world, so Linda E. Rains must have been someone really special to receive this magnificent award! The presentation box measures 18 1/2″ in length, 13 1/2″ in width and stands 11 1/2 tall. This is not for the average glassware collector. It is a magnificently elegant presentation box that should not sit in a closet or storage facility, but is a magnificent show piece for a fine home or executive office setting. I met the “Colonel” in 1975 during a National Bicentennial conference in Kentucky and his daughter in the late 1990s at a culinary contest held in Florida.
