SET of 4 CUT CRYSTAL 5½ ART DECO CHAMPAGNE COUPES by EISENLOEFFEL. It is my pleasure to offer you this set of 4 handcut crystal champagne glasses designed by Jan Eisenloeffel and produced by Kristalunie in Maastricht The Netherlands. Eisenloeffel was the first artist in the Netherlands who -looking for ways to improve the design of metal objects for domestic use- came to very original and surprising solutions. In his work we find no stylized naturalistic motifs, but simple clean shapes with unbold geometric ornaments. Many museums at home and abroad show examples of his early work of before 1908, which is considered the most interesting part of his oeuvre. After studying at the “State Normal School” in Amsterdam he became interested in the modern movement in decorative arts. He was influenced by architects like Berlage and de Bazel, who advocated a clearly visible and honest use of construction materials. His simple clean geometric shapes with discreet ornaments joined seamlessly with developments such as the architecture of Berlage. From his studio came handmade silver tableware, but also machine-made copper items. The glass service that Eisenloeffel designed for Kristalunie in Maastricht in 1928 was so popular that it remained in production until long after the second world war. The heavy, cut glass drinks service marketed under Eisenloeffels own name, was originally composed of 24 pieces. This can be seen in the bowl of this glass, each of which is decorated with twelf cut facets and supported on a hexagonal stem. The transition from stem to bowl is marked by a collar of sparkling crystal, consisting of three horizontal cirkels of diamond-shaped facets. In this design Eissenloeffel struck the perfect balance between the visual idioms of glass services of the past and present. This glass service is part of the collection of the Netherlands National Glass Museum in Leerdam. This is the champagne glass of this service. The price is for the set of 4 glasses. This listing is for a rare intaglio cut Hawkes crystal Art Deco set being offered is part of a three-piece desk set that is on display at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. This three piece set dates from the 1920’s and consists of the pen tray 8 inches long x 2 1/4 inches wide x 7/ 8 inch tall, stamp box 1-inch tall x 3 inches long x 1 3/4 inches deep, letter holder is 3 1/2 inches tall x 6 3/4 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches deep. Intricate Hawkes intaglio cut pattern features vertical line panels with center oval and intaglio cut bird and leaves. Very good to excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Minor light scratches on the underside from use and display. Signed Hawkes on bottom corner on stamp box, and on the bottom edge on letter holder. Rare Art Deco Etched Crystal Cocktail Shaker Set By Duncan Miller Ca 1936

I bought this unique cocktail shaker “set” some 35 years ago. It has been in my possession ever since and has been very well cared for. I have only seen this shaker twice in all my years of collecting. Collectors may remember that Duncan Miller produced the iconic “Chanticleer” cocktail shaker set earlier in the decade. This “Fish” pattern and the “Seahorse” pattern by Duncan Miller has often been attributed to William Reese who designed for Duncan Miller during this period. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any additional information on William Reese. Then there’s this mysterious cocktail shaker also in an etched fish design with obvious similarities but not an exact match to the cocktail cups. Here Modernist-styled fish spurting bubbles and flowing seaweed are etched around this large, 12.5″ / 4.5″ diameter crystal shaker. Also by Duncan Miller? Since Duncan Miller rarely marked their products in this time period (opting for stickers instead), it would be difficult to determine. The untraceable “PATENT PENDING” stamped on the inside of the chromium top offers no answers either. The unusual chromium-plated top and cap with self-strainer, features a turning dial of 10 cocktail recipes: Alexander, Bacardi, Bronx, Clover Club, Jack Rose, Manhattan, Martini, Palm Beach, Pink Lady, and Side Car. The shaker has 3 pieces as shown. The cocktail cups are 3.75″ tall, 2″ diameter and sit on a rich ruby red bottom foot. This high-quality “set” is in excellent condition and shows light wear consistent with age and use. Heisey Glass SET (7) Lancaster #481 Etch English Hunt Art Deco Crystal Tumblers. Soda glasses / tumblers from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The glasses were produced as part of Heisey’s “Lancaster” line of crystal tableware No. 481 etch which was introduced in 1937. The glasses feature a striking Art Deco take on a vintage English huntsman atop a handsome horse. The deep cut etch is well executed with crisp detail to stylized horse, rider and grassy ground. The glasses show excellent clarity and are highlighted with a diamond optic. The pieces are a nice highball size measuring 5 3/8″ high and 2 7/8″ across the top rim. The bases are embossed with the Heisey diamond “H” mark. ALL SEVEN are in excellent condition with no damage. These very hard-to-find Lancaster tumblers would make a great addition to any collection of 1930’s Heisey / Elegant Depression glassware or Hunt / Equestrian themed bar setting.
