The stories behind the company that made these glasses is historically profound. Hortensia glass factory was set in one of the first Polish Jewish ghettos set up in Nazi controlled Poland before WWII. Ive read so many stories of death and survival of those who worked in the Hortensia factory. This factory and many of its employees actually made it through WWII and thrived for a very long time until the unfortunate collapse of its smelter in the 1990s. Beautiful MidCentury Set from a prominent Atlanta Family estate. Includes Cranberry Pink, Deep Ruby Red, Emerald Green, Amethyst, Amber Yellow and Cobalt Blue, cased cut to clear crystal wine glasses. Five of the glasses have pinwheel stars design, the Amber has a fan and lattice design but same exact glass model. Stunning glasses with exceptional craftsmanship. Approximately 7.5 tall , mouth opening 2.5, holds 6oz of liquid. Glasses are in excellent condition. White spots seen on glasses are lights reflecting on the crystal.
