Incredible, likely one of a kind punch set in Meriden’s highly desirable 161 pattern. Incredible footed punch cups and matching ladle cut in Meriden’s Florence design (stamped Meriden). The 161 design features a fan of varied cutting – two bands of tight cane cutting surround two more bands of clear button hobstars with checking. The last portion of the fan is a large vesica of stacked hobstars (two clear button, one wedding-cake). It’s a stunning pattern and one seldom seen. The plug of the punch bowl is covered with a 24-point hobstar. The cups are outstanding – I have not seen a footed cup cut so well. This set has 6 perfect punch cups. There are 4 with various damage (1 not bad at all and the other 3 are filed down significantly and of little/no value). The punch bowl is very heavy and measures over 14″ wide and 13 1/2″ tall.
