This glassware set consists of three vintage two-pack boxes of Iittala Aarne cordial shot glasses, making a total of six glasses. Created by pioneering Finnish designer Göran Hongell, this iconic, minimalist pattern debuted in 1948, won the Gold Medal at the 1954 Milan Triennale, and is honored in the permanent collection at MoMA in New York. Each individual glass features a heavy, solid crystal base transitioning seamlessly into an elegant rim with a 5cl capacity, and all six glasses still proudly retain their original, authentic red iittala dot stickers. What makes this particular collection incredibly special is the presence of the rare, original vintage packaging from the Ahlstrom era, which includes two orange and black boxes alongside one matching yellow and black box. While the glasses themselves are in pristine, unused condition with no chips or cloudiness, please note that the delicate vintage cardboard boxes do show age-related shelf wear and have some tape on them. This specific color-block packaging style predates the modern minimalist black-and-white boxes used by iittala today, proving the exceptional historical age and investment value of these beautiful barware sets.
