A Fabulous Full Set of 12 Matching Waterford Lismore Crystal Old Fashioned Bar Cocktail Glasses Measuring 3&1/8 Inches Tall & All Of Which Are In Excellent Condition! Beautiful set of 12 cut crystal glasses in the Lismore pattern by Waterford. Lismore was introduced in 1957 and is an elegant traditional design with a cross cut diamond pattern that catches the light beautifully. These are also great for soda, juice, bottled water or a cold glass of milk. This set is in excellent gently and seldom used vintage condition with all twelve glasses free of chips, cracks, scratches, stains or repairs (these have not been cut down as they are of the correct height and have been mine since new). Having said that, these are not new items and may show minimal microscopic signs of gentle use and storage. These glasses measure 3&1/8 tall and hold 9 fluid ounces. All Twelve glasses retain their very easily visible Waterford etched markings on the bottom side edge of each as pictured. Waterford Lismore 9 oz Old Fashion, Single. Size: 3 1/16×3 5/16. Synonymous with luxury and fine living, the Waterford Crystal Lismore pattern has been Waterford’s pre-eminent design for 60 years. Derived from the Gaelic “lios more”, meaning “great ringfort”, Lismore was inspired by the gothic architecture of the 800 year-old Lismore Castle in County Waterford, Ireland. Ancestral home to England’s Dukes of Devonshire since the 18th century, the famed castle overlooks the beautiful Muster countryside of the Irish coast. Influenced by the 18th century crystal designs of Waterford founders George and William Penrose, Waterford Crystal designer Miroslav Havel created the Lismore pattern in 1953. The pattern features refined diamond cuts- a signature of early Penrose designs- and a symmetrical series of upward flowing wedge cuts. The clarity of the crystal combined with the refraction of light through the cutting created what the world now treasures- the enduring allure of Lismore.
